A Different Approach for a Yugioh Blog

Hey guys, my names Bobby Raines and I am a Yugioh writer from Alabama. I am also an online poker player who has crushed the microstakes games for a long time. I do incorporate some things i've learned from my poker play to help me make decisions in Yugioh. I was sort of adopted into the game of Yugioh at a late age. Most players probably started by watching the television series as children. I started as a poker player who knew a couple of guys that played Yugioh and I soon became really interested in the game during my first year of College.

One thing I noticed when I first started playing Yugioh was that there was just a sheer lack of strategical information and theoretical analysis available about the game, especially compared to a game like poker where I would constantly be discussing strategy with peers and studying books by highly reputable poker authors. You just don't come across that with the game of Yugioh. Players are kind of left to tend to themselves. Message boards like pojo.com solely focus attention on deck building and what cards to play. That is great and all, but having a well built deck can only take you so far! Having a good deck and not knowing how to play it will never make you a 3 time Shonen Jump Champion. That is why I made this blog. Hopefully I can shed some light on players through my research as well as learn a lot myself and improve my own game. I will be devoting time on studying Yugioh theory like I did with poker. This will involve lots of play-testing and discussion with some of the hottest players from the South! My first article will involve basic strategy that should be common knowledge to competitive players. Of course, with any theory there is always room for discussion and debate. See ya!
